This beautiful Star of David (Magen David) is made of two separate parts.
The lower sterling silver layer is carved with the initials of the Priestly blessing. This blessing is the oldest known Biblical text that has been found, and was used by Aaron and his sons to bless the Israelites in the bible. (Numbers 6, 24-26). ‘”The LORD bless thee, and keep thee; The LORD make His face to shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee; The LORD lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”
The upper 14 karat gold layer is handcrafted with the words of the Shema.
The “Shema” is the basic Jewish belief: “Shema Yisrael Adonai Eloheinu Adonai Echad” which means “Hear, O Israel: the Lord is our G-d, the Lord is One”.

Together the two layers make up the Star of David (Magen David).
